The business of diversity

In its second consecutive run, this report shines light into the value of diversity in the broadcast and media technology industry.
 

Fostering a diverse workforce increases company financial success, allows better decision making, cultivates innovation and creates a healthy working environment where people feel heard.  Lack of diversity leads to unpleasant experiences and hinders sales opportunities.

Despite this, women in the industry remain underrepresented and report to face discrimination in the workplace. Along with other minority groups, they feel unwelcome and ignored at industry events such as trade shows, where diversity is not always welcomed. 

To address this gender discrepancy, a call to action urges industry leaders to promote diversity and inclusion initiatives, actively support advocacy groups, and diversify their speaking panels at industry events.
